Introduction to CENTURY Primary Academic Assessments

Modified on Tue, 16 Dec at 10:25 AM

We are proud to now offer baseline and end-of-year assessments on CENTURY, in a new area of the platform, accessible via your usual CENTURY logins. Currently, we offer year KS2 baselines in SPaG, mathematics and science and we will be releasing End of Year assessments in 2026.

Academic Assessments

CENTURY’s Year Group Primary assessments measure learners against the expected standards for each specific year group. Designed to be sat at the start and end of the year, these assessments align to the English National Curriculum for English (grammar, punctuation and spelling), maths and science. Each assessment is designed to be completed within 50 minutes.

How are these different from diagnostics?

These summative assessments are designed to test students across entire subjects in a more formalised way at the beginning or end of the year. See the Assessment Topics for a break down of what these assessments contain.

Diagnostics, on the other hand, focus on more specific topic areas; will influence the pathway and can be done in a less formal manner, in line with day-to-day teaching and learning.

Reporting

You can download CSV and PDF reports for students from the platform, giving a breakdown of their performance across the topic area:

The Assessment Report breaks down each topic of the assessments by the class and suggests strengths, areas for improvement and suggested nuggets:

Each topic is broken down into the different objectives on a class level:

These reports can also be accessed on an individual student basis.
